The latest story of Ukrainian swimmers in Poland about feeling gratitude for being supported.

The 24th of February has tremendously changed many lives, not only Ukrainians. 600-1000 kilometers of heavy traffic from Kiev, Kharkiv, Kherson, Mariupol, Chernihiv, Sumy and many many other towns through hundreds of concrete blocks and checkpoints led Ukrainian families to Moldavian, Hungarian, Slovak, Romanian borders. We greatly appreciate hospitality of all nations, but Poland stands alone, absorbing more than 3 million of Ukrainian refugees.

Some of young swimmers who represents Youth Sports School #9 (ДЮСШ №9) and Sport School of Olympic Reserve #18 (СДЮШОР №18) got to Oświęcim in Poland. Looking for opportunity to resume their training process the coach Inna Nikitina were contacted by Ryszard Firczyk with proposition to assist and support in their athletic needs.

Swimmers got luck to meet such a nice athlete and person as Ryszard, who organized training process and living of Ukrainian Team. At the same time, he is not only sport friend. Pan Firczyk is a volunteer with big heart. He promotes, collects and sends humanitarian aid to Ukrainians in danger.

In this picture: baby’s and maternity food, children’s staff, hygiene items, medicines for a little Ukrainians and their parents from ruined Mariupol who escaped to Zaporizhya City.
